As part of our commitment to supporting apprentices, we are participating in an Apprenticeship Ambassador Programme run by Hertfordshire County Council.
One of our apprentices is currently taking part in the Programme and has attended seminars to present ‘her story’ on many occasions to audiences including students, recent school leavers, careers advisors, teachers and parents.
The feedback was excellent, in particular from Charles Cross, Beaumont School - “Thank you for coming along last night and your contribution to the evening - the students have been ‘buzzing’ about it today and Emily had an amazing impact too for ‘telling it like it is’.
The parents also really appreciated the information about apprenticeships and that there was a strong ‘impartial’ element to the event”.
Participating in events like these helps develop confidence. Public speaking and presentation skills are a valuable asset when dealing with customers and colleagues, while expanding on interpersonal and communication skills.
These practical skills build on the training each apprentice does with the company and their NVQ giving them a range of useful skills in the work place.
We are in the process of training a further 5 apprentices on the programme. It’s all part of our commitment to helping people reach their full potential.
