Members of FS Cables staff have successfully taken part in the St Albans Half Marathon again this year.
Sponsorship money raised by the team went to supporting the British Heart Foundation charity, the biggest funder of heart and circulatory research in the UK.
FSC were presented with the Business Shield award at the end of the event on the 13th June for having the largest team contribution at this year’s Half Marathon.
Eleven members either walked or ran the gruelling 13.1 mile course, the highest number of entries from any local business. Daniel Butterfield, Gavin Clements, Lynn Hammond, Rosie Howell-Hughes, Katy Johnson, Frances Jordan, Greig Martens, Matt Morland, Chloe Rimmer, Marnie Wennington and Becky Wills all successfully completed their event.
The route started and ended in Verulamium Park where thousands gathered to take part or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Participants in the Half Marathon were cheered on as they made their way around Batchwood Golf Course, down Bedmond Lane and back along Chiswell Green towards the finish line and a well-earned medal.

Although the FSC team will be tending to their sore feet for a few days yet, they are already looking forward to contributing to next year’s St Albans Half Marathon.
FS Cables would like to say a big thank you to those of you who supported this charity event.
