FS Cables are providing the KNX cable to be used on the electrical installation competition at WorldSkills 2011 at Excel, London from 5th – 8th October.
Billed as ‘the skill Olympics’, WorldSkills is the largest international skills competition where young people aged from 17-22 compete in a range of vocational skill competitions from auto repair, floristry and cookery, to carpentry, joinery, plumbing and electrical.
Participants compete for gold, silver and bronze medals across the 45 events, all aimed at promoting the importance of vocational training systems across the world.
The KNX association is the official sponsor of the electrical installation competition and asked FS Cables to supply our KNX certified cable for the young competitors to work with.
KNX systems, formerly known as EIB (European Installation Bus), allow the operation and control of heating, lighting and other building controls. As an ‘open’ system, using KNX certified equipment guarantees the interoperability of devices.
In addition to the KNX two pair cable, FS Cables also offer an external duct grade, armoured and white sheath version with KNX certification.
More than 150,000 visitors are expected to attend the event over the four days. For more information visit www.worldskillslondon2011.com
FS Cables are proud to be supporting tomorrow’s electrical installers and wish all competitors the best of luck.
