About the Sales Account Manager Job

This is a consultative sales position; you'll use your B2B sales, account management, excellent customer service and communication skills. You will be joining a strong sales team of 12 who cover re-sellers, contractors and manufacturers’ selling to business across the whole of the UK.

You’ll be customer focused and pride yourself in delivering robust results which will come from your excellent consultative sales approach and “can do, will do” attitude. 

You will be given full product and technical training, we'll support you to learn and develop your knowledge of our industrial products. We’ll give you the confidence to provide customers with account management service and consultative technical sales processes.

Main Duties? 

  • Planning and outbound calling of new prospects to build long term profitable sales, selling products by establishing contact and developing relationships and recommending solutions
  • Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries ensuring customers are quoted and orders are processed
  • Maintaining clear customer records on company CRM as well as providing accurate information to customers and colleagues 
  • Ongoing account management and growth of your customer portfolio 
  • Listening to customer requirements creating detailed proposal documents and presenting appropriately to make ‘the sale’ 
  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Representing the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations 
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers 
  • Challenging any objections and conversion of quotations 
  • Advising on forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions 
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets 
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ business requirements 
  • Attending team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues

Requirements? 

  • B2B telephone sales experience in consultative or technical sales
  • Client relationship skills with previous experience in account management 
  • Exceeding sales targets and goals
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Positive, confident and determined approach 
  • Resilience and the ability to cope with rejection 
  • High degree of self-motivation and ambition and energy
  • Skills to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Capability to flourish in a competitive environment 
  • Good level of numeracy
